     Washington Lauer was born in 1831 at Dover Twp., York Co., PA.^2,3,4 He was the son of John Lauer and Catherine (?).^2,3 Washington Lauer was a farmer between 1853 and 1880 at Dover Twp., York Co., PA.^5,3,4 He married Rebecca Emig, daughter of Jacob Emig and Catharine (?), on 21 July 1853 at First (Trinity) Reformed Church, York, PA; at German Reformed by Bossler.^2,6,3,7 Washington Lauer was listed in the assessor's military role as "not liable; pd commutation" in 1865 at Dover Twp., York Co., PA.⁵ He and Rebecca Emig appeared on the census of 1880 at Dover, York Co., PA, along with Washington Lauer.⁴ He died in 1902.⁷ He was buried at Salem Cemetery, Dover, PA.⁷

      Rebecca Emig was also known as Peggy.⁴ Her married name was Lauer. She was born in 1831.^1,5 She was the daughter of Jacob Emig and Catharine (?).³ Rebecca Emig was born circa 1832 at PA.⁶ She married Washington Lauer, son of John Lauer and Catherine (?), on 21 July 1853 at First (Trinity) Reformed Church, York, PA; at German Reformed by Bossler.^7,8,3,5 Rebecca Emig and Washington Lauer appeared on the census of 1880 at Dover, York Co., PA, along with Rebecca Emig.⁶ She died in 1913.⁵
