      His name was legally changed to Voncannon changed name from Voncannon to Fincannon circa 1775.2 John Fincannon had 8 children.3 He was born between 1740 and 1750 at Holland.1 He was born circa 1750 at PA.4 He was born circa 1750 at NC.3 He was the son of Johann Peter von Konnen.1 John Fincannon married Mary Erwin on 16 March 1771 at Chatham Co., NC.3 John Fincannon married Catherine Chinn on 6 December 1771 at Chatham Co., NC.4 John Fincannon was living in 1773 at Randolph Co., NC; He signed (as John Vonkannon) a 1773 petition to move the County Seat.3 He moved circa 1775 to on Gunpowder Creek near the present town of, Hudson, NC. He began military service circa 1776 in the Revolutionary War, John served in the irregular Burke County militia. He was captured by the Tories and sent to Tarleton's headquarters at Camden, SC. Although pressed into service, he slipped across the line at the battle of Cowpens and joined General Morgan's American forces. He remained with these forces until after the battle of Guilford Court House where he left and returned home. He died circa 1841 at Hudson, Burke Co, NC; 1840 census lists John in age bracket 90-100.1 He left a will in March 1841 at Lenoir, Burke Co., NC; (probate date) left all of his possessions to his daughter, Catherine.3,1

     Lester Cloyd Cannon was born on 15 September 1891 at Tower Hill, IL.3 He was the son of Robert Elston Cannon and Julia Ann Steward.2 Lester Cloyd Cannon was a witness traveled to the Columbian Exposition in Chicago.4 He married Josephine Christman on 25 December 1927 at Decatur, IL.3 Lester Cloyd Cannon was a school teacher and then later he delivered mail.5 He died on 3 April 1983, Easter Sunday, at in the downstairs bedroom in his home, Tower Hill, IL, at age 91.1 He was buried at Tower Hill, Shelby Co., IL.1
