     Robert K. Mayer was born on 15 October 1904 at Iola, KS.2,3,4 He was the son of Ernst C. Mayer and Anna Ticie Burger. Robert K. Mayer appeared on the census of 1905 in the household of Ernst C. Mayer and Anna Ticie Burger at Iola, Allen Co., KS.4 Robert K. Mayer appeared on the census of 29 April 1910 in the household of Ernst C. Mayer and Anna Ticie Burger at Fawn St., Caney City, KS.5 Robert K. Mayer and an unknown person moved to Electra, TX, with Anna Ticie Burger circa 1917; , a small town by Wichita Falls.6 He said that he remembers, as a small boy, seeing a black man hung from a telephone pole. There was a sign that stated, "Black man, don't let the setting sun find you in this town."6 Robert K. Mayer and an unknown person moved to Borger, TX, with Anna Ticie Burger circa 1918; , an oil boom town about 40 miles from Amarillo, TX.6 Robert K. Mayer was employed by lard drawer (?) at the hacking house (perhaps at the stock yard). He did not attend school. in 1920.7 He appeared on the census of January 1920 in the household of Anna Ticie Burger and Carl Morgan Ramsdell at Williams St., Denver, CO.7 Robert K. Mayer had five children, three of which survived to adulthood.6 He said his family came from Holland, Germany.6 He moved the 1960's to Guymon, OK.6 He had a family cattle business for over 15 years at Guymon, TX.6 He died on 25 December 1993 at age 89.6

Ellen Springer's children had the middle initial 'S' which could have been Springer. And Lillie Roggers son Henry had the middle name Roggers.3 In 2001, Lael Jordan née Walter was in posession of a small silver coin that had belonged to Samuel Elmer Walter. The coin is smaller than a nickel but a bit larger than a penny. She had been told that he always wore it around his neck on a chain. It appeared to be German and had the date '1764' on it. On one side was what looked like a coat of arms and it read 'CAR•IIID•G•HISPETIND•R'. On the other side, there are two columns with a crown in the middle . Written on one side in 'VNUM•', and on the other side 'VTRA', and in the middle 'M•1764•M'.1 Samuel Elmer Walter was married four times.4 He was born on 21 April 1846 at Donegal Township, Lancaster Co., PA.5,6,7,8 He was the son of John Walter and Catharina Eichholtz.2 Samuel Elmer Walter appeared on the census of 1850 in the household of John Walter at East Donegal Twp., Lancaster Co., PA.9 Samuel Elmer Walter appeared on the census of 1860 at Mount Joy Twp., Lancaster Co., PA; he was 14 years old, going to school, and living with the family of Joseph Nissly, farmer.10 He married Susanna Lauer, daughter of Abraham Lauer and Susanna Witmer, on 7 November 1864 at PA.11 Samuel Elmer Walter married Susanna Lauer, daughter of Abraham Lauer and Susanna Witmer, on 7 November 1867 at PA.7 Samuel Elmer Walter witnessed the burial of Maggy L. Walter circa 8 September 1873 at Shiloh Union Cemetery, W. Manchester Twp., PA.12 Samuel Elmer Walter and Susanna Lauer deeded their interest in Susan's father's [Abraham Lauer's] estate to James Fisher for $600. The same James Fisher deeded to Susan and Samuel Walter a large number of farm animals and farming implements. in May 1878 at Heidelburg Township, York Co., PA.13 Samuel Elmer Walter was a laborer - out of work 5 months during the previous year in 1880 at Village of Heathville, York, York Co., PA.6 He and Susanna Lauer appeared on the census of 1880 at Village of Heathville, York, PA, along with Samuel Elmer Walter.6 He witnessed the death of Susanna Lauer on 8 July 1888 at York, York Co., PA.14,15,7 Samuel Elmer Walter was living on 8 June 1889 at East Earl Township, Lancaster Co., PA; Samuel was a farmer.16 He married Ellen J. (?) on 9 June 1889 at Ephrata, Lancaster Co., PA; by Samuel Harley.17 Samuel Elmer Walter and Ellen J. (?) were living in March 1894 near Lititz, Lancaster Co., PA; Samuel told his son, Henry, that when he lived in Pennsylvania, there was someone with a barn that had a glass roof and that it was so amazing.18,19 Samuel Elmer Walter and Ellen J. (?) moved on 9 March 1894 to Iola, Allen Co., KS; In later years, Samuel told his son, Henry, that when the family moved to Iola, they rode in a boxcar of a train with all of their belongings and animals.18,19 Samuel Elmer Walter was living between 13 March 1894 and 1926 on So. Kentucky St., 2-3 miles So. of Iola, KS; (previously the Heller farm).18 He witnessed the death of Ellen J. Alt (wife) of Holton, Jackson Co., KS for the sum of $1,250.75.27 On 2 December 1899, Samuel Elmer Walter and Lillie Hattie Roggers mortgaged the following property: at N 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 11, Twp. 25, Range 18, E of the 6th P.M., Allen Co., KS,from Samuel Elmer Walter from Jacob Goodner for the sum of $1,250.00. Out of the cash that was in the estate, Lilly paid certain debts such as the doctor and $399.50 for Samuel's funeral. There was $126.52 left, half of which went to Lilly. Walter circa 8 September 1873 at Shiloh Union Cemetery, W. Manchester Twp., PA.13 Susanna Lauer and Samuel Elmer Walter deeded their interest in Susan's father's [Abraham Lauer's] estate to James Fisher for $600. The same James Fisher deeded to Susan and Samuel Walter a large number of farm animals and farming implements. in May 1878 at Heidelburg Township, York Co., PA.14 Susanna Lauer and Samuel Elmer Walter appeared on the census of 1880 at Village of Heathville, York, PA, along with Susanna Lauer.15 She died circa 1888 at Lancaster Co., PA; at the age of 43.16 She witnessed the burial of Eli Walter. Her headstone reads: "Susanna Walter wife of Samuel E. Walter Born Nov. 30, 1845 Died July 8, 1888 Aged 42 yrs., 7 mos. & 8 days."3 Susanna Lauer died on 8 July 1888 at York, York Co., PA, at age 42.17,5,8 She was buried at Kraybill Mennonite Cemetery, near Mount Joy, Lancaster County, PA.18 She witnessed the burial of Catharina Walter.

Donegal Twp., Lancaster Co., PA; the family was comprised of.12 He appeared on the census of 1850 at East Donegal Twp., Lancaster Co., PA, along with John Walter.13 He married Rachel (?) between 1850 and 1860.14 John Walter and Rachel (?) appeared on the census of 1860 at E. Donegal Twp., Mount Joy, Lancaster Co., PA, along with John Walter.15 He appeared on the census of 1870 at East Donegal Twp., Lancaster Co., PA, along with John Walter.16 He appeared on the census of 1880 at Springville, Lancaster, PA, along with John Walter; This may very well be the wrong man. This man was the father-in-law of Martin and Susan (c1853) Wolgemuth who had 2 children Harry (c1872) and Mary (c1876).17 On 30 April 1885, John Walter signed a hand-written paper that reads " Know all men by these presents that whereas by last will and tesament duly probated on the 5th day of April A.D. 1845 and recorded in the Office of the Register of Wills of York County Pa. Jacob Eicholtz after certain other devises and bequests bequethed unto his daughter Catharina married to John Walter or to her heirs or assigns all the residue of his estate. And whereas the said Catharina is deceased, leaving to survive her one child, to wit, Samuel E. Walter and her husband the said John Walter. Now for and in consideration of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said Samuel E Walter the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said John Walter has and does hereby sell, convey, assign and set over unto the said Samuel E Walter his heirs and assigns all and every his right, title, interest, claim and demand whatsoever in and to the said residue of the estate of the said Jacob Eicoltz devised as aforesaid unto the said Catharina her heirs or assigns to demand, collect, receive and to have and to hold unto the said Samuel E. Walter his heirs and assigns for ever. In witness there of the said John Walter has hereunto set his hand and seal this 30th day of April A.D. 1885." The paper is signed "Johan. Walter" although the document is written in a different hand. It is then verified and signed by a Justice of the Peace in Lancaster County, PA.
at Lancaster Co., PA.9 He died on 4 March 1887 at East Donegal Twp., Lancaster County, PA, at age 78.18,3 He was buried at Kraybill Mennonite Cemetery, East Donegal Township, three miles west of Mt. Joy, Lancaster Co., PA; Lael Jordan was told by her father, Henry Walter, that there was a deed to the cemetery plot in her father's papers. She never found it. There were supposed to be several unused graves where he was buried.19,20
